Project Nanneer
Project Nanneer, a flagship project of the AMM Foundation that delves into the heart of a Transformative water conservation initiative. The project stands as a beacon of hope in addressing the underlying issues. The desilting of ponds is a crucial cornerstone in our endeavour. By removing sediment and debris, we not only enhance the water-holding capacity but also foster a healthier aquatic ecosystem.
What sets Project NANNEER apart is through Empowering local communities to actively participate and take up responsibility of their water bodies. Through collaborative efforts with local stakeholders, volunteers, and partner organizations, we have achieved several key milestones.

- Mobile lab Kit /ECG machine
- 17 water bodies desilted in Sivagangai, Pudukottai, Tiruppur, Erode and Cuddalore districts in Tamil Nadu.
- Over 21,000 farmers directly or indirectly benefited across the five locations.
- Rejuvenation led to enriched biodiversity in each pond.
- Through an Ornithological study, it was found that Oonaiyur water bodies host 140+ bird species. 20-25 species identified as endangered.
- Formation of youth groups for local ownership.
