Republic day Report

"With freedom in mind, faith in words and pride in our heart, we salute our nation on its 69th Republic day,"

Our chief guest Mrs. Shahuna hoisted the national flag and the school reverberated with the sound of the national anthem played by the band. The national anthem was followed by the patriotic singing of the flag song in Tamil which was followed by the pledge.

Mrs. Shantha Rugmani delivered the republic day message as follows:

Republic day represents the true spirit of independent India..The grand display of our uniformed forces serves as a reminder that the security of our nation comes at the cost of many sacrifices. The development that we achieve each year takes us further ahead on the path that our freedom fighters had dreamed of. This is an occasion we should remember and salute the hardships and sacrifices born by our freedom fighters because of which we are breathing freedom in independent India.

The opportunities in our country are extensive. India is well equipped with talent in science and engineering. The size of the age distribution of the consumer is also encouraging.

Just to give you a better perspective-there are more than 600 million people in India aged 25 and much younger. How big is that?

Well, if you added up the entire population of the United States, Mexico and Canada you wouldn’t come to even 500 million. So isn’t that great? India is a nation with the huge POTENTIAL of youth power in whose hands the future of the country lies.

And this of course will be the working-age population in the next few decades to come.

Its time each one of us focuses on "What can I do?"

Each one of us need to start with the supreme feeling of gratitude, count our blessing, learn from our rich heritage and culture ,not get entangled in the vicious trap of westernisation. Each one of us is biologically adapted to flourish well in our respective habitat. We are taught by our ancestors to plant trees, love animals and preserve our resources. So whatever changes we adapt, lets analyse and judge the suitability, the pros and cons and the very necessity of such changes in our precious lives.

Children the only take home message I would like you to carry is:-

R - Recognise the huge potential in you

D - decide your ultimate aim in life, visualise your Dream

A - Acquire knowledge to equip yourself to reach dream

P - Put in effort to achieve your goal, put your head, heart and hands into it.

P - Watch your Path. Your path to your goal should not in any way hinder the peace and happiness of anyone in this planet

Spectra 2018

The primary cultural celebration titled ‘Spectra 2018’ was held on the 12th of January 2018 at SRM Higher Secondary School Auditorium at 5.30 pm. The day witnessed an array of joy and colour spread across the stage. The entire event was conceived with the thought of highlighting the importance of a well nourished childhood. With the time machine as a common thread, the children experienced various cultural expressions to know the past, live the present and dream of a future for which they are the substance.

The students took part in song, dance, villupaattu and dance drama and made it a joyous and colorful evening. With a motive not to leave any child behind, the school focused on involving students as per their intent to participate either in song, dance or drama. As a pre requisite, a circular was sent to parents and groups were formed as per request.

The event was graced by Mrs. Mahalakshmi, Principal AMMHSS and Mr. Amos, Headmaster SRMHSS. We place on record our gratitude to Mr. A. Rajagopal Secretary AMM Foundation for permitting us to use the SRM Auditorium that housed the large turnout of parents and grandparents.
