ICAI, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India conducted talent test for classes IX to XII. Karthini of class IX is one in the top 1000 list and she was awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation by the ICAI.

The Little Birders (27 students) of T.I and SRM (6 students) Marched to Vedanthangal
The little birders (27 students) of T.I and SRM (6 students) marched to vedanthangal on 28.01.17 (Saturday) to see the glorious flocks of migratory birds returning home after a day’s hunt for food. The pattern of flight and accurate identification of their homes remain a mystery in the young minds of birder. Mr.Ravishankar, amateur bird watcher engaged students in bird census. He enlightened students on the art of bird watching and the importance of identifying and counting the number of birds visiting the place. He also emphasized on birds behavior during natural calamities (Vardah). Learning about birds remains ocean less for our young birders. Birds such as Pelican, Painted Stork, Ibis, Glossy Ibis and Black headed ibis were spotted in large numbers. Few ducks like little Grebe, Coot, Shovlers, Pintails, were also spotted wading in the calm waters of Vedanthangal.
Educational Trip to Birla Planetarium
Students of class VIII went on an educational trip to Birla Planetarium on 27.01.2017. The objective of the trip was to understand the concepts related to
- Mirrors and optical illusion
- Astronomy ( they learnt about Mars)
- Fundamental concepts taught through the equipments in the science park and the models/exhibits in the science building
"Bird watching” at Korattur lake on 11th Jan 2017
Kids for Tiger organized “Bird watching” at Korattur lake on 11th Jan 2017. Around six schools participated. Thuhina and Rakesh of class Vlll were a part of the programme. Children were able to spot different species of birds such as Flamingo, Swamphen, pelican, cormorant, Bee eater, Barn swallow, Palm swift. Mr.Ravishankar from SRM SCHOOL was an ornithologist who shared his knowledge on birds with children.
