Field Trip To Children's Park

The students of Buds 1 - 8 went on a field trip to Children's Park on the 18th of October. The trip was a part of their ES lesson on animals.

They saw different types of animals, flight and flightless birds, reptiles and water creatures. They were able to identify and differentiate between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. They easily understood the lesson on Birds by observing the storks, ducks, parrots, emus and the ostrich.

MGML's field visit to Sahaya Illam and Babies' Home

The children of Buds 1 to 8 visited Sahaya Illam and Holy Apostles convent Babies Home as part of their value Ed. Field trip.

They donated pampers and milk powder to the babies home. Buds 1-4 prepared and distributed sandwiches at the old age home and Buds 5-8 prepared sandwiches in school and distributed them to the less fortunate at St. Thomas Mount as part of 'Community Lunch'. They children also interacted with the grandmas and everyone had a good time.

A.M.M Interact Club Inauguration

The Interact Club is to help the weaker sections by providing them with food, stationery for children, clothes, etc. The students of the Interact Club collect the materials from students of each class and visit orphanages every month and see such ecstasy on their faces for the little things we provide. The 24th interact club inauguration was held on the 14th of October, 2019. We had Mr. Kamaraj from the Rotary club, Nungambakkam as our chief guest. The president of the interact club, K.B Hamithra adjourned the meeting and was given the collar and the badge. The secretary Dharun, treasurer- Deeraj and the Directors- Abhijit, Kuzhalvalli, Mathangi and Chakithya were given the badges. The students of the Interact Club promise to carry on the projects which were implemented last year and help the weaker sections of the society.

Report On The Visit To LITTLE DROPS, PORUR

We, the interact club members of our school celebrated DIWALI with Old Age people of LITTLE DROPS old age home, Porur on 26.10.2019. 24 Students from classes XI and XII and two teachers volunteered for this visit. We started from school at 9.15 a.m. and reached the place around 10.00 a.m. After meeting the representative Mr. Manoj in the home, we were divided into two groups. 10 boys and a teacher in one group and 14 girls with another teacher in another group. We went around having a chat with those old people. We had a wonderful time talking to elders getting their advice, blessing and experiences. The collection of October month 18Kg of White Channa and 2 bags of Rice plus contribution of Interact members and teachers, 600 Laddu and 600 Mixture packets were distributed to them. Really it was worth going to those places to see the status of elders in our society and also learnt the lesson to look after the elders with respect. We returned back at 1.30 pm.

Eye Donation Programme

The Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre organized an awareness programme on eye care and eye donation on 10th October, 2019 between 9:30a.m to 12:30 p.m. Many schools attended the programme. Ten students from class 9 participated in the programme and gained lots of input. It was indeed an eye opener for the students as they learnt what it means to donate the eye and take care of it. Many esteemed speakers such as Dr. Sheela John, Sri Devadhiranjan (chairman of cinema journalist group), SMT.Meena Dhutaa (Founder of Multi) and Shri. Ramki (Executive director of Science and Technology Centre) addressed the gathering using interesting videos and pictures. Padmashree Professor Dr.S. Natarajan – President of All India Ophthalmological Society was the chief guest. He shared his thoughts on eye donation and also spoke about the process of corneal transplant and its importance. The thought provoking session was followed by an eye check-up camp through which was beneficial to the students.

Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrations

150th Gandhi jayanthi celebrations were held at Gandhi Mandapam on October 2nd. Students from class VIII & IX i attended the program organized by the Government of Tamil Nadu and presided over by Governor of Tamil Nadu Honourable Sri Purohit Panwarilal. There were Cultural events followed by Governor's address to the students who have assembled from various schools in and around Chennai.
