AMM Founder’s day
AMM Founder's day was observed on 3rd March 2017 to commemorate the birth of our founder, Sri. A.M.M. Arunachalam. Ms. Keerthi Arun, the joint correspondent was the Chief Guest of the day. She addressed the children and motivated them to reach great heights by having a positive outlook. Awards for the best project displayed in Srujana 2017 were given to the winners.
AMM Scout Camp
AMM Scout Group organised an overnight camp from 4th to 5th March 2017 at Don Bosco Youth Animation Centre, Ennore. 87 students participated in the camp where they learnt values, leadership qualities, punctuality, orderliness and cleanliness. They learnt various interesting things like cooking without vessels. The best patrol and best company was chosen by the leader of the course and awarded. The camp motivated and inspired them to participate more in future.
RSP Road Awareness Programme
A road awareness programme was conducted by Road Safety Patrol students of AMM School on 13th March 2017. Students made placards, distributed flowers and thank you cards for those people who obeyed traffic rules.
Reading day was observed on 23rd March 2017. This reading day stressed the importance of reading English books. Students and teachers from KG to class IX brought their books and assembled in the ground. They spent an hour reading their books.
Value Education Field Trip
Students of class VIII were taken on a field trip to St. Louis Deaf and Blind School on 24th March 2017 as part of their Value Education activity. Students understood the pain and suffering which the children face and how they accept it happily. It was an informative session for the children as they also learnt different gestures taught by Rev. Fr. Principal.
Debate with CHS Kottur Students
Students from C.H.S, Kottur visited AMM School on 27th March 2017 as part of Value Education session. Three students of class VII from both the schools paired up and formed a team and conducted a debate on the topic “Video games are too violent”. The students were able to learn about the strength and weakness. They have planned to create a pen pal club and exchange letters in future.
Orientation Programme by Vidya Sagar
An orientation programme was conducted by Vidya Sagar School for the students of class VII B on 30th March 2017. Teachers of Vidya Sagar School interacted with 33 students (of VII B) and they learnt about the activities of the school through a power point presentation. Children learnt the signs for alphabets as per American Sign Language and the methods by which differently abled children are trained to speak and write. Finally the students were asked to form groups and create a story based on pictures.
Club Culmination 2016-17
The culmination of various clubs was held on 30th and 31st March 2017. Children of different clubs demonstrated their learning through presentations, shows like mime show, skit, karate exercises, quiz competitions and so on. This motivates children and encourages them to participate in various extracurricular activities.
